Die Autor*innen Awadalla und Maxi Obexer sprechen über (un)sichtbare Grenzen in der Welt und im Erleben – und über Feminismus und Psychiatrie als gemeinsame Themen ihres Schreibens. In ihren Texten befassen sich der ägyptische Autor* und die deutsch-italienische Autorin mit Queerness in ihren Herkunftsorten, Formen der Unterdrückung und des Widerstands.Dazu gibt es Live-Musik.

Die Veranstaltung findet auf Englisch statt. Der Eintritt ist frei.
Awadalla: *1985 in Ägypten, ist Autor*, Historiker* und transdisziplinärer Künstler*. Awadallas Werk umfasst Text, Performance und visuelles Erzählen.
Maxi Obexer: *1970 in Brixen/Italien, ist freie Autorin von Theaterstücken, Hörspielen, Erzählungen sowie Essays. Sie hat als Dramaturgin gearbeitet und als Bühnenregisseurin.
Carla Cerda: ist Biologin, Übersetzerin und Dichterin.
Die Veranstaltung ist eine Kooperation mit dem Deutschen Literaturinstitut Leipzig.

„I have lived many exiles“
The authors Awadalla and Maxi Obexer emmerse in a talk about (in)visible barriers within the world and experiencing life – and about feminism and psychiatry as common topics of their writing. The Egypt author and the German-Italian author explore queerness in their respective places of origin, as well as forms of oppression and resistance. There will be live music.

Awadalla: Born in 1985 in Egypt, is author, historian and transdisciplinary artist. Awadalla’s work encompasses text, performance and visual storytelling.
Maxi Obexer: Born in 1970 in Brixen, Italy, is author of plays, radio plays, short stories and essays. She has worked as a dramaturg and stage director.
Carla Cerda: is biologist, translator and poet.
The event is a collaboration between Weiter Schreiben, the program for authors in exile, and the German Literature Institute Leipzig.
